Jacqueline M. Lauritsen was born on July 18, 1926, in Omaha, to Roy and Allene Dudgeon.

She was raised in the Blair area and graduated from Blair High School in 1944.

At the age of 18, she moved to Oregon to work in the shipyards during WWII, working as a steel cutter.

After moving back to Nebraska, she was united in marriage to Herman Lauritsen on January 29, 1947. They were blessed with two sons and two daughters.

The couple made their permanent home in Blair.

Over the years, Mrs. Lauritsen worked at Wolff’s Grocery, the brush factory, Sioux Honey, D.L. Blair, and as a Lifeguard. She helped her husband with the trucking company, beekeeping and farming.

She enjoyed swimming, dancing, quilting, bowling, her card club, casinos and scratch-offs, and traveling with Herman for work and pleasure, covering large portions of the United States.

She was a member of The Congregational Church in Blair.

Jacqueline Marie Lauritsen, age 90, of Blair passed away November 12, 2016, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Left with memories are her husband; children: Brian (Pam) Lauritsen, Jeff (Linda) Lauritsen, Lucy (Pat Duffey) Lauritsen and Amy Lauritsen; grandchildren: Amanda Lauritsen-Wrieth, Abby Olson, Jessica Lauritsen, Cody Gorsett, Levi Gorsett and Wyatt Lauritsen-Jurek; great-grandchildren: Keegan Wrieth and Kinzey Wrieth and Alex Olsen; and sister, Elinor Beaver; and her cherished dog, Marcel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wayne and Lyle Dudgeon; and daughter-in-law, Sue Lauritsen.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 18 with family receiving friends from 6-8 pm at Campbell Aman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 2 pm Saturday November 19, 2016 at The Congregational Church in Blair. Pastor Shirley Schmidt will conduct the service, offering words of comfort. Cheryl Baron will provide music, including “In The Garden” and “The Old Rugged Cross”. Graveside services will follow in the Blair Cemetery.
