V. June Regennitter, 79, of 857 Daniels St. NE. died Thursday, June 27, 2002, in St. Luke’s Hospital after a long illness. Services: 1 p.m. Monday, Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Fritz Mellberg will officiate. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and at the chapel after noon Monday.
Survivors include two daughters. Julie Viner and husband Michael of Hiawatha and Carol Regennitter of Des Moines; a sister, Norma Price of Avoca; and two brothers, Lyle and Duane Billings, both of Lewis. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Michelle Viner-Winger and husband David and their daughters. Megan and Morgan of Castle Rock, Colo., and Melanie Viner and her children, James and Jessica of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Dale, Lloyd, Walt and Maurice Billings; and two sisters, Margaret Billings and Ruby McClure.
June was born May 3, 1923, in Lewis, the daughter of Cleve and Ethel Wichert Billings. She married Harold Regennitter on Sept 11, 1943, in Shenandoah. He died in 1969.
She was a loving mom, grandma and great-grandma June. She will forever be remembered in the hearts of those she knew and loved.
A memorial fund has been established.
