THOMAS J. KARSTEN
- Age 65, died Oct. 7, 1994 at home. He was born August 8, 1929 in Adrian, MN and was a resident in the Vancouver area for 43 years.He was married 42 years, to his wife, Edith. He worked 35 years at Great Western Malt, retiring in 1993. Served during the Korean Conflict with the U.S. Marines. Member of Mt. Hood Masonic Lodge #32, life member. Member of Teamsters Local #55. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and gardening. Mr. Karsten is survived by his wife, Edith M., at home; daughter, Sheri Wold, and son-in-law, Norm of Chehalis, WA; sister, Elizabeth Zilm of Luverne, MN; grandchildren, Julie and Kristen Wold. Graveside service held, Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 11:00 A.M., Garden of Resurrection, Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Vancouver. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 1994, in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Vancouver, Wash.

Mr. Karsten died of heart and lung disease Oct. 7 in his Hazel Dell home. He was 65.

He was born Aug. 8, 1929, in Adrian, Minn. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Karsten married Edith White March 8, 1952. A 43-year Vancouver resident, he retired in 1993 after 35 years with Great Western Malt.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Sheri Wold of Chehalis, Wash.; sister, Elizabeth Zilm of Luverne, Minn.; and two grandchildren.

Remembrances: American Lung Association of Washington, 2625 Third Ave., Seattle 98121; or Americna Heart Association in care of Eleanor Odegard, 5603 N.W. Cherry St., Vancouver 98663.
