VERNON - Gloria Boone, 81, of Stephenville, was born in Vernon, Texas; she was the daughter of the late Ralph Pate and the late Louise Lowke Pate.
She married James Boone on May 5, 1956 in Vernon. He preceded her in death on Sept. 16, 2012.
She was a graduate of Vernon High School, St. John Lutheran College, and Tarleton State University. She taught Vacation Bible School for several churches in Vernon, she was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and Secretary for Sunday School Dept., also taught Sunshine Place and worked for St. Paul School Stay & Play. She worked at First State Bank and later at Chillicothe Bank. She loved sewing, crocheting, reading, oil painting and fishing.
She is survived by her daughters, Melissa Gfeller and husband Ray of Farmers Valley, TX., and Pamela Jones and husband Troy of Stephenville, TX, her brother, Charles Pate and wife Betty of Vernon, TX. Five grandchildren, Kaylee Gfeller Covey and husband Wade of Iowa Park, TX, Cody Gfeller and wife Megan of Tolar, TX, Kelcee Jones, Easton Jones, Dylan Jones all Stephenville, TX; two great-grandchildren, Wyatt Allen Covey and Tenli Rhea Gfeller.
