COLLEEN ANNE MAIER
December 6, 1936 ~ January 16, 2017

Colleen Anne Maier, a thoughtful loving soul, daughter of Dale Sherman Galloway and Doris Virginia Galloway (Garside). Ancestry include: Foster, Cooke, Spencer, Young, Kearney, Godwin, Bridger, and Pitt.

Throughout her life she enjoyed bowling, softball, ceramics, travel, fashion, nature, home, life and family.

Colleen was preceded in death by her brother, Dale; twin sisters, Carolyn and Joanne; her oldest sister, Janice; brothers-in-law, Art and Hank Thompson, Kenny Rudolph, Hellmut Gebhardt, and Bill Nyback; her parents, Dale and Doris Galloway; and her grandson, Mathew.

She is survived by her husband, Rudy; sister, Kathleen; three children: Phillip Craig of Spokane, Washington, Michael of Vancouver, Washington and Karen from Federal Way, Washington; three grandchildren, Lydia (Michael's daughter), Ashley and Bradley (Craig's two children); three great-grandchildren: Riah (Lydia's daughter) and Beckham (Lydia's son), and William (Ashley's son); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her rich family history includes the Jack Knife Zion Horse Heaven Society, Daughters of the Pioneers Chapter 19, and the Phillip Foster Farm in Eagle Creek, Oregon, The Cooke and Kearney Houses in Franklin County, North Carolina and Pitts Neck Farm in Virginia and Jamestown.

Colleen was a cherished daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, mother, wife and friend.

When mom's ability to speak dimmed due to Alzheimer's, she spoke from time to time, she always had something kind to say. She would say, "It's nice to see you again." . It was quite nice. As she spoke less, you could see the calm kindness in her eyes. I cannot imagine how difficult it must have been for her. The effort needed for a few words, a wave, or a smile, may we never know.

God bless the Galloway's Dale and Doris Janice, Joanne, Carolyn, Dale, Scott Thompson, Bill Nyback and all that have gone before us. May the strength of those who have gone before now be ours. It will be a grand reunion we will have some day.

"Let us all try to meet in heaven where parting will be no more forever. Where sickness, sorrow, pain, and death are felt and feared no more." ~ Wm. W. Cooke

You truly will be missed. Goodnight my Mom, love you.

Viewing was held Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Vancouver Funeral Chapel, with a memorial service following. There was a reception after the service. Colleen's final resting place was at Northwood Park Cemetery in Ridgefield, Washington.
