Robert passed away at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was an army veteran, a millwright, a member of the Sullivan American Legion Post 139 Sullivan Masonic Lodge F&AM 263, Zorah Shrine, Greene Co. Shrine Club and the Color Guard Funeral Detail. He enjoyed fishing and family time. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Shirlene in 2014. Services will be at 8;00 pm On June 22, 2016 at Holmes Memorial Chapel. Military services will be given and he will be creamated.
He is survived by his son, Richard (Jane) Rogers of Fairbanks; two daughters, Julie (Jeff) Thomas of Farmersburg, Sherri Rogers of shelburn; brother, Donald (Anna) Rogers; sisters, Sue Sullivan, Debbie Merriweather, and Betty "Jody" Rogers; seven grandchildren, Dustin Rogers, Mocole. Rogers, Danielle Thomas, Tod Lebeda, Samantha Thomas, Nrianna Lebeda, and James Thomas; four great-grandchildren, Alyxandria, Brooklyn, Braeleigh, and Addilyn.
