James Myron Bowerman, 18, of 592 S. Main, was killed instantly in an automobile accident this morning on Rt. 65 and 30 N. in Cairo.

Mr. Bowerman, an aeronautic navigator in the Navy, arrived home on Friday. He was being transferred from Jacksonville, Fla. to Atlantic City, N.J.

He was born Nov. 26, 1938 in Lima, the son of William T. Bowerman and Stella Marks. He entered the Navy June 20, 1956.

Survivors include his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Marks, with whom he made his home; his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Roush of 440 Roush Rd.; his father, William T. Bowerman; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Bowerman of 1302 W. Robb Ave.; a half-brother, Danny Roush of 440 Roush Rd.; and four half-sisters, Darlene, Katheryn, Cynthia and June Alice, all of 440 Roush Rd.

Mr. Bowerman graduated from Columbus Grove High School in 1956, played football for 2 years, was track manager, and was manager of the football and basketball teams. He was also a member of the Columbus Grove Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Chiles and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Austin Gilleman and the Rev. Walter Marks officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The body will remain at the Chiles and Son Funeral Home where friends may call.
