Morris E. Speth, 85, of Hallieford, died Sunday in Walter Reed Memorial Hospital, Gloucester. A native of Chicago, he visited in Mathews County for many years and had been a permanent resident for about 10 years. He was a member of a Masonic lodge in Flushing, N.Y. Survivors include a son, John Edward Speth of Loomis, Calif., and four grandchildren. The body has been cremated. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad.
