He grew up in Grand Forks and attended Grand Forks Central High School. He served in the US Army as a medic and was stationed in Germany. After his discharge from the service he worked for Lystads, Great Northern Railroad, and as a meat inspector for the USDA. Tom also owned and operated Grube Construction. He was a member of the Kern-Thompson Post #77 of the Pembina American Legion.
He was predeceased by his parents; his son, Paul Grube; brother, Gary Grube; sister-in-law, Dora Mae Grube; brother-in-law, Leo Warner; two nieces, Paula Grube Johnson and Jeananne Budge; and one great nephew, Ryan Warner. He was survived by a daughter; six grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; two sisters; and a brother.
A memorial service was held on Monday, February 15, 2010 at the Pembina Evangelical Free Church, Pembina, ND.
