FORT ASHBY, W.Va. — Charles Christopher Miltenberger, 83, of Fort Ashby, died Monday, July 28, 2003, at Memorial Hospital. Born March 16, 1920, in Ridgeley, he was the son of the late George David and Mary (Wolfe) Miltenberger. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Joyce (Loveridge) Miltenberger, two sisters and six brothers. Mr. Miltenberger served in the U.S. Air Force during WW II. He was a retired bus driver for the Mineral County Board of Education. He was also a self-employed contractor. He was a member of Annunciation of Our Lord Catholic Church. Survivors include his five children, Audrey Liller and Alan Charles Miltenberger, both of Fort Ashby, Linda Pyles, Warner Robbins, Ga., Roy Miltenberger, Fort Ashby, and Carl Miltenberger, Deltona, Fla.; two sisters, Rosaire Miltenberger, OSU, Louisville, Ky., and Gladdais McDaniel, Hedgesville; two brothers, Fidelis Miltenberger, Cumberland, and Leo Miltenberger, Finleyville, Pa.; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, Fort Ashby, on Wednesday. The Christian Wake Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Annunciation of Our Lord Catholic Church, Thursday at 10 a.m. with Father Paul Yuenger as celebrant. Interment will be in Fort Ashby Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the local combined veterans honor guard. Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Liller, Anthony Liller, Jeremy Pyles, Joseph Pyles, Robert Miltenberger and Tim Growden.
