John Kuse Dies at Alta Home
Popular Man Stricken by Heart Ailment
Rites were Monday

Alta -- John Kuse, 55, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday evening after an illness of but five days. Mr. Kuse had a sever heart attack about a year and a half ago, and had been very careful. On Dec. 30, while at the home of his son northwest of Alta, he was taken by another spell, and in spit of all care and skill, he was unable to rally.

He had moved to Alta with his family for four years, coming here from Cherokee. Last summer he purchased a home here, expecting to make this his permanent home as his son John was farming the Saberson place morthwest of town while the father and mother made their home in town.

John Frederick William, fourth member of the family of Ernest and Louisa Kuse, was born near Berger, Franklin count, Mo., on Feb 4, 1884. As a child he moved with his parents to a farm near Talmage, Neb. and there he grew to manhood and was confirmed in the Evangelical Zion church.

In 1907 he was united in marriage to Miss Ona. B. Carman. A son, John, was born to the union. The mother and son, as well as a grandson, Frederick, and three sisters, Miss Lillie Kuse of Talmage, Neb.; Mr. Laura Lohoefener of Alma, Mo.; and Mrs. Frieda Hoeman of Nebraska City, Neb., and two brothers, Wm. A Kuse of Talmage, and Edwin Kuse of Payne, survive a kind parent, husband and brother. He made a host of friends as he met a great number of people every year. He had a cheerful philosophy and his counsel was invaluable.

In 1925 he became a member of the Methodist church and he remained a member to the end. The funeral was held from the Methodist church on Monday afternoon with Rev. J.T. Snyder in chare.

Bearers were Frank Watson, Clifton Anderson, Ross Ankerson, Russell Peterson, Oscar Peterson and Merritt Anderson. Music was furnished by a quartet consisting of Mrs. Carl Turnquist, Mrs. J.W. Morrison, Frank I. Carpenter and C.H. Wegersley with Miss Minnie Olsen as accompanist. A large number of dealers and officials of the John Deere company from the territory which was covered by Mr. Kuse for 26 years attended the funeral.
