Otto Arnold Pracht was born in Cloud County, Kansas the son of Herman & Hattie (Nelson) Pracht. Ott was born blind and spent his years as a broom maker. People from the community would give him a ride into town to sell his brooms.
He spent time in the Topeka State Hospital off and on his entire life. At the hospital he would make basketball nets and hammocks. He also spent time at the home of his nephew, Lawrence Pracht, in Concordia. While there he amused his great-great-nieces and nephews, who loved spending time with him.
He loved to read Louis Lamour books. He was a wonderful man with a sense of humor.
