Sara was born on 25 Jun 1812 at Franzthal, Brandenburg, Prussia to (purportedly) Heinrich Dircks and Katarina Ratzlaffen. Her father died before she was born and her mother remarried. Her step-father, Martin Schmidt, moved her and the rest of the family to Przechowka, Schwetz, West Prussia about 1819. Her step-father died in 1823 and her mother died in 1826. She lived with her step-brother, Tobias Schmidt until she married David Richert on 1 Nov 1829 in Gross Deutsch Konopath, Schwetz, West Prussia. She had 12 children; six survived into adulthood. Sara died on 21 Jul 1864 in Alexanderwohl, Molotschna, Colony, South Russia.
