She had siblings Anna 1888–1888, Edith Amollia 1891–1938, Maria Caroline 1896–1995, William Robert 1898–1958, Alouise Ann "Lou" 1898–1950 and Frank Anthony 1900–1979.
Her family lived in Rush Center and Lincoln, Kansas and were farmers.
Rose married Edward M. Matoush 1883–1946 in 1907. They had children Grace Irene 1908–1985, Velma Mae "Wilma" 1911–2008 and Evelyn M. 1925–?.

Survivors included her sister, Marie C. Ott, Wichita; three daughters: Grace Bolm of home in Las Vegas, Velma Baker, Sun City, Ariz., and Evelyn Slaughter, Las Vegas; two grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
