KALISPELL SOLDIER DIES IN VIETNAM
The spring offensive of North Vietnam has been responsible for the death of a Kalispell soldier.
Spec. 4 Richard M. Johnson died as a result of wounds received in hostile action against his base camp in an early morning attack, at 4 a.m. Wednesday in the Republic of Vietnam. He was assigned to Co. D, 554th Engineer Bn., based near Saigon.
Johnson is survived by his wife, Linda, and a five-month-old daughter, Cynthia, at the family home, 483 First Ave. E.N.; his father, Stanley R. Johnson, Eureka, and his mother, Mrs. William Laws, Thompson Falls.
Funeral arrangements are indefinite at this time pending return of his body to the United States.
