He was a retired accountant, former coach of basketball, baseball and football and a graduate of St. Xavier High School and the University of Louisville. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of St. Ignatius Martyr Church.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Johnson Meyer; and his brother, Herman G. Meyer.
He is survived by his two sisters, his five five children, 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
His funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ignatius Martyr Church, 1816 Rangeland Rd., with burial in St. Michael cemetery. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Bosse Funeral Home, Barret and Ellison Avenues.
