RETIRED KIEKHAEFER INSPECTOR EXPIRES AT AGE OF 77
George J. Faris, 77, a resident of 31 Gould St., died at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday at St. Agnes Hospital.
Mr. Faris was born Feb. 27, 1889, in Lebanon, the son of Joseph and Anna Faris. He married Helen Silah Dec. 5, 1914, at St. Patrick’s Church. He had been employed at the Kiekhaefer Corp. as an inspector until retirement in 1959. A member of St. Patrick’s Church, he was associated with the Holy Name Society.
Survivors include his widow; three sons, Joseph, Phoenix, Ariz., Bert, East Orange, N. J., and Richard, city; two daughters, Mrs. Ann Hernnanny, Balboa, Canal Zone, and Mrs. Lynn Fowler, Madison; two brothers, Louis and Philip, of the city; four sisters, Mrs. John Silah, Mrs. Edward Scannell and Mrs. Roman Sawyer, all residing in Fond du Lac, and Mrs. George Seroogy, La Crosse; 19 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brother.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, Rev. Francis J. Scannell, O.F.M. Cap., officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Due to Holy Week, the funeral mass will be celebrated Monday at St. Patrick’s Church.
