Gertrude M. Fewel, known to all as Trudy, former Pulaski resident, passed away peacefully at home in San Diego, CA, on Saturday, March 18, 2017. The daughter of Joseph and Rose (Krumrai) Palubicki was born September 2, 1924, in Angelica. Trudy and her sister, Dorothy, moved to California in 1946. Trudy worked for 44 years as an administrative secretary with Edison Bros. in San Diego, until her retirement in 1991.

Shortly after Trudy retired, her sister, Dorothy, suffered a stroke, and Trudy spent the last 12 years of Dorothy’s life caring for her. Dorothy and Trudy were staunch San Diego Chargers fans. They were season ticket holders and attended every game until Dorothy’s death in 2003. After Dorothy’s death, Trudy married a friend she had known for most of her life, Jack Fewel, on October 8, 2005, in San Diego. Jack preceded Trudy in death in 2013. Trudy belonged to Immaculata Catholic Church, located on the University of San Diego campus. She enjoyed playing poker, traveling, and going on cruises. Trudy loved dancing, especially with Jack.

Survivors include two sisters-in-law: Edna Palubicki, De Pere, and Shirley Palubicki, Pulaski; nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; two brothers: Richard Palubicki and Raphael Palubicki, and six sisters: Blanche (Earl) Chuppa, Ceil (Otto) Lapedus, Regina (Edward) Zablocki, Tess (Tony) Wendling, Dorothy Palubicki, and Rosemary (Frank) Glowinski.

Friends may call at Marnocha Funeral Home, Pulaski, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 29th, with a Prayer Service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Assumption B.V.M. Cemetery.
