Our beloved and cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend passed away at the age of eighty-three on March 26, 2017 surrounded by his family.

He was born June 6, 1933 in Salt Lake City into the loving family of Dora Eliza and James D. Ostler.

He graduated from East High School in 1951 and married Carolyn Hart in the Salt Lake Temple on June 20, 1958.

Jay worked most of his career at Unisys (Sperry Rand Corporation), where he was a procurement specialist of government contracts. He retired from that same company in 1992.

Jay and Carolyn were married for fifty-eight years. They had three children. Jay is survived by his sons, Jerry (Laurie) and Michael (Beverly); daughter, Jalynn (Rick); seven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mueller Park First Ward Chapel, 1825 South 800 East, Bountiful, where friends and family may call prior from 10:00-10:45 a.m.
Interment will take place following the services in the Lakeview Memorial Estates Cemetery, 1640 East Lakeview Drive, Bountiful.
