CLARICE E. JONES
Clarice E. Jones, 63 of the Economy community, east of Atlanta, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2000 at Ellis Fischel Hospital in Columbia.
Clarice was born on Jan. 25, 1937 in Luray, the daughter of Merrill Virgil and Evelyn Bernice (Benda) Ingold. On June 25, 1955, in La Plata, she was united in marriage to Theo M. Jones, who survives of the home.
She is also survived by a son, Tim Jones and his wife, Diane of Washington, Missouri; three grandchildren, Eric, Connie, and Ryan Jones; one brother, M.V. Ingold of Inverness, Florida; four sisters, Evelyn Glasgow of Edina, Lois Keller of Camdenton, Reva Graham of La Plata, Anita Milz of Greenwood; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Having moved to La Plata from Wyaconda in 1950, Clarice attended and graduated from La Plata High School in 1954. She was a graduate of Northeast Missouri State Teachers College in Kirksville, where she received her degree in elementary education. She taught in the following schools, Elmer, Canton, Alexandria, and Atlanta. She enjoyed her flowers, gardening, quilting, and reading. She was a member of the Wyaconda Christian Church.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 21, 2000, at the Elliot Funeral Home in Atlanta. Burial was in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery, east of Atlanta.
