She was born July 10, 1936, in Hanau, Germany, the daughter of Karl and Maria (Roth) Makko. She married Arland Miller on Aug. 1, 1962, in Germany. He survives.
Irmgard is also survived by one daughter, Susan (Joerg) Pohlmann of Hamburg, Germany, and two grandchildren, Lana and Martin Pohlmann of Hamburg. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Irmgard worked as a beautician and enjoyed the performing arts. She had a great knowledge of anything classical. She loved nature and tending to her beautiful flowers. Irmgard was very proud of her German heritage, but embraced American traditions. She was a member of the Oberlander German Club in Terre Haute, Ind., and the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Danville.
