Robert N. Hammontree, 92, of Basehor, KS went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. Funeral services will be at 12 Noon on Monday, April 18th at the Maywood Community Church, 11201 Parallel Pkwy. Kansas City, KS 66109. Visitation will be from 10 to 12 Noon, on Monday morning, April 18, prior to the service at the church. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Maywood Cemetery Fund in care of the funeral home.
Robert was born on June 24, 1923 near Kingsville, MO the third child to Paul and Hazel Hammontree and he graduated from Kingsville High School in 1941. He then entered the Army in 1942 where he served in the Army Air Corp in England in the 8th Air Force and later he served in the Pacific Theatre. After his service he went to work for Dodson Insurance Group in 1946 and worked there for 41 years retiring as the Chief Financial Officer in 1987. After his retirement he decided to work even harder and follow his passion as a Farmer, working the land. He has been an active member of Maywood Community Church since 1958.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Paul L. Hammontree and sister Edythe L. Pieron. And is survived by his wife of 55 years Frances L. Hammontree of the home and four children Terry Hammontree (Jan), Steven Hammontree (Nickie), Leeann Freeze (Cecil) and Dale Hammontree. One sister Donna Daniel, 10 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
