Wayne "Kingfish" Estel King, 76, of Potosi, formerly of Steelville, Missouri passed away Monday, October 29, 2007 at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born August 20, 1931 in Salem, Missouri to Earl Estel and Dorothy Frances (Hutson) King. On May 7, 1976 he was united in marriage to Juanita Cloin who survives.

In addition to his wife, he will be sadly missed by his two sisters, Earlene Beck and husband Warren of Steelville, MO and Wanda Hutson and husband Clifton of Cedar Hill, MO; six step-grandchildren, Debbie Moses and husband Ron of Potosi, MO and Evelyn Garms and fiance Bill Bergner of Bourbon, MO, Matthew Garmes of Bowling Green, MO, Mindy and husband Jared Gillam of Cuba, MO, Michael Garms of Cuba, MO and Miranda Garms of Steelville, MO and eleven step-great-grandchldren. His parents, stepson, Joe Garms and step-grandson Myron Garms preceded him in death.

Wayne had worked many years as an auto mechanic in the Steelville area. He loved watching race cars as a hobby. Wayne was a member of the First Baptist Church in Steelville, MO.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2007 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO with Rev. Jerry Beers and Rev. Kevin Farr officiating. Special music of "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art" were sung by Bob and Carol Coleman. Serving as casketbearers were Tom Beck, Ron Moses, Sonny Haffer, Daniel Zimmermann, Alan Miles and Bill Bergner. Commital prayer and burial were in the Steelville Cemetery.
