Victor A. Gauer, 87, of Big Rock, IL, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Presence-Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born August 6, 1929 in Aurora, IL, the son of Victor and Jeanette (Roehrig) Gauer. Victor served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the Montgomery VFW and the Yorkville Legion; as well as the Lucky 50 Fishing Club. Victor retired from Consolidated Freight Way after 26 years of service. Victor enjoyed being outdoors, he especially loved farming-he would say it was in his blood. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving friend, Nancy Vargo of Montgomery, IL; three daughters, Teresa Gauer of Yorkville, IL, Nadine Gauer of Aurora, IL, and Melissa Gauer of Glen Ellyn, IL; one son, Vic Gauer of Sandwich, IL; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Elaine (Everett) Mitchell of Yorkville, IL and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marilyn Merkle.

Memorial Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Lincoln Memorial Park in Aurora, IL. Memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice.
