Doris Elizabeth Hall, 81, died Oct. 17 at her Anchorage home. A service will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3250 Baxter Road, with Elder Ruth Haynes officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow at the family residence.
She was born Sept. 1, 1912, in Independence, Mo., and was a resident of Anchorage since 1964. She worked as a legal secretary in Kansas City, Mo., from 1960-1964 and in Anchorage from 1965-1966. She had been secretary to the inspector general at Elmendorf Air Force Base from December to June, 1966, when she retired. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the National Association of Legal Secretaries. Her hobbies included reading, sewing, the Day Break Adult Day Care Center and genealogy. Her family said: "She was a devoted and caring mother. She was the youngest member of a large family who helped others."
She was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters and her parents.
Mrs. Hall is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Eugene and Evelyn Hall of Anchorage; and her grandson, Brian Hall, of Anchorage.
The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, 919 North Michigan Ave., No. 1000, Chicago 60611-9501.

Note to self: During the trials of Ms. Hall's daughter Sharon Kinne during the 1960s, a member of her defense team was Martha Jane (Sperry) Hickman, b. 14 Mar 1928 in Missouri. She was married to Judge James Lesley Hickman on July 22, 1946 in Kansas City, Kansas. They were divorced in May, 1965. Her father is Judge Floyd Logan Sperry (q.v.) and his is probably Elmer Lawrence Hickman (q.v.).
