The Remsen-Bell Enterprise gives the following account of her death which was quite sudden. Mrs. Frank J. Bohnenkamp died at her home in Remsen last Saturday night at 11:30. She was seriously ill for only a few hours. Her death was due to an attack of acute enteritis. She had been home alone during the entire afternoon and when the members of the family left her at noon she was busily engaged in housework and in the best of health. At 5 pm her son John entered the house and found his mother prostrate on the floor. She was conscious and remained so until the very end. All aid was of no avail and she passed peacefully that night.

Margaret Mullenkamp/Millenkamp was born to Anton and Mary (Oswald) Mullenkamp/Millenkamp at New Vienna, IA. She married Frank J. Bohnenkamp on Sept. 10, 1878 at Petersburg, IA. The couple resided on a farm near Petersburg until 1881 when they came to Remsen, IA, where her husband had interest in the Schultz & Bohnenkamp implement establishment. After a year, he sold his interest in the business and moved the family to the farm five miles southeast of Remsen where they remained for the next 36 years.

Margaret and Frank Bohnenkamp had 12 children, one dying in infancy. Surviving their mother are Mary Ludwig and Rose Ludwig and Anna, Frances, Eleanor , Frank, and Henry Francis all of Remsen; Margaret Arens of Dumont, MN; Cecelia McCarvel of Anaconda, MT; John of Alexandria, SD; Joseph of Emery, SD. The deceased is also survived by two brothers: William of Remsen and Anton of Dyersville, IA; and three sisters: Lizzie and Mrs. Ed Budden of Granville, IA. and Mrs. Frank Stuntebeck of Remsen.

The funeral mass was held at St. Mary's Catholic Church of which the deceased was a life-long member. Eleven little girls, all grandchildren, acted as flower girls.

The deceased was one of the early day residents of Remsen and was well-known, highly regarded, and beloved by all who were fortunate enough to have formed her acquaintance.
