Rose Faye Little Stewart

May 8, 1913 -­ February 12, 2007

Rose Faye Little Stewart was born May 8, 1913 in Huckaby, Texas and passed from this life February 12, 2007 at age 93. She graduated from Huckaby High School as Valedictorian and attended Tarleton College in Stephenville, TX. Rose moved with her parents to the Mesilla Valley in New Mexico where she met and married George Stewart. While George was in the Merchant Marines during World War II, she lived in Long Beach, California, where she worked in a defense plant as a riveter, producing B24 Liberator Bombers. The couple returned to live in Las Cruces, New Mexico after the War.

Rose was an avid Ham Radio Operator and held certificates for "Worked All States", "Worked all Counties" (New Mexico) and many others. She was an active member of American Radio Relay League and served as President of the Mesilla Valley Radio Club for two terms and as Secretary ­ Treasurer for several years.

In 1991 (8 years after George died) she moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to join her daughter and son-in-law.

Rose is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, June and Howard Drugosh of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Five grandchildren and their spouses: Linda & Melvin Woodruff of Strawn, TX, Lester & Leanna Brooks of Vancouver, WA, Phillip Hutchins of Houston, TX, Pam & Glenn Lundy of Huntsville, AL, Jennifer & Wayne Smith of Linneus, MO.
Seventeen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, J. O. Little and Willie Belle Smith Little, her husband, George Phillip Stewart, her sisters: Myra Musgrove, Mattie Mae McInroe, Ann Loree Justice and her brothers: Loval Little, Jesse Little, Leahman Little, Amos Little and Truitt Little.

Other family members that have gone on before her include: Claude Stewart, Kate Eaton Stewart, Henry Musgrove, Boyd Reed, Mildred Musgrove Reed Cannon, Ruby Franklin Little, Arvle McInroe, Phillip Doss McInroe, Gina Elston, Olen B.(Sonny) Little, Olen Hugh McInroe, Eugene Justice, Jeanie Justice Reynolds, Lester Brueckner and Ruby Grace Stewart Brueckner.

She grieved at being the last of her siblings to pass on. We have loved and admired her for many years and it is time for us to let her go, wish her farewell and Godspeed to join those who have gone before her to the big family reunion in heaven.

They will welcome her with loving arms.

Services will be at Alderwood's-Heath Funeral Home Chapel in Tulsa, OK, Saturday, February 17th. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Las Cruces, New Mexico, date pending.
