Fred A. Janssen, son of Christian and Elizabeth Rust Janssen was born on October 12, 1883 in Germany. He came to the United States in 1890.
On February 15, 1911 he was united in marriage at the Kramer Lutheran Church to Anna Dorthea Orthmann. To this union were born two children.
Mr. Janssen farmed in Lancaster County east of Crete all his life.
After a short illness he passed away on March 31, 1970.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and three brothers.
He is survived by his son, Edward of Lincoln; daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Leona) Ray of Grandview, Missouri; sister, Mrs. Minnie Eden of Nebraska City, and three grandchildren.
