Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Stanley and Anna Pernock Mros. A graduate of Coughlin High School, class of 1958, he then joined the U.S. Army. He was a supervisor in the laundry department at the White Haven State Medical Center before retiring. He was a member of the Hudson Servicemen's Club, the 109th Field Artillery, Kingston, and was an avid fisherman. For many years, Bernie was associated with the Metcalfe-Shaver-Kopcza Funeral Home.
Also preceding him in death were his wife, Barbara Joan (Regula) Mros, in 2016; brothers, Stanley, Joseph and Robert Mros; and sister, Jeanne Griffith.
Surviving are his sons, Michael and wife, Wendy, Falls Church, Va., and Matthew and wife, Sharon, of Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, Christopher, Alex and Nicholas Mros, of Wilkes-Barre; sister, Josephine Kozich, of Kingston; and brother, Eugene and wife, Sharon, of White Haven.
A blessing service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, May 26, at the Metcalfe-Shaver-Kopcza Funeral Home Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Interment will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Fort Indiantown Gap Cemetery, Annville.
