SCHMIDT, Kenneth (Ken) On Friday, May 19, 2017 our father Ken, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the age of 83. Ken was the devoted and loving husband of our mother Helen for 64 years. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his children Jack (Debbie) Schmidt, Brenda (Heinz) Schlichting, and Kathy (John) Pires. He was adored by his grandchildren Leigh-Ann, Jennie (Duncan), Robert (Sandra), Sean (Katy) and Kayla. He was the proud great-grandfather to Masin, Tonis, Violette, Emily, Charlie and soon to be Jackson. He will also be missed by his best chum of over 70 years Lawrence Hazard and his wife Tillie. A funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 934 Highway #8 in Stoney Creek, on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Burlington. A celebration of Ken's life will be held at Halton Naval Veterans Association Hall, 2444 Industrial Street, Burlington also on Thursday, May 25th between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Diabetes Research Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
