Wake Sun. 4pm at St. Benedict's Convent Chapel, St Joseph, MN. Funeral services Mon. 3:30pm St Benedict's Convent Chapel, St Joseph, MN. Friends may call on Mon. from 8am until time of funeral. Sister Catherine Noethen, 78, died Saturday at St. Scholastica Convent. Funeral services will be 3:300 p.m. Monday at St. Benedict's Convent Chapel, St. Joseph. Burial will be in the convent cemetery. Friends may call at 11:45 a.m. today at St. Scholastica Convent; at 4 p.m. at St Benedict's Chapel, St Joseph, and from 8 a.m. until time of services Monday at St. Benedict's Chapel. Sister Catherine Noethen was born Feb. 9, 1914, in Minneapolis to Frank and Catherine (Miesen) Noethen. She entered St Benedict's Convent St. Joseph, on June 18, 1935, made first vows on July 1 1, 1936 and made final vows on July 11, 1939. Shespent31 years teaching elementary school in Albany; Far-mington; Little Falls; St. Paul's School, St. Cloud; St. Augusta School, St. Cloud; St. Joseph School in Sauk Centre; Tacoma, Wash.; and Altcona, Wis. She spend five years teaching Head Start and Montessori programs, and for nine years taught English to foreign students at the College of St. Benedict. She worked at Red Lake and St. Benedict's Convent for eight years in the clerical and receptionist field. She retired in 1991. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Edwin (Frances) Emig, and Mrs. Julian (Helen) Paradise, Minneapolis. She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters and four brothers.
