Caroline passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Wisner Care Center.
Caroline Bertha Wendt was born on April 8, 1925 in Stanton County, north of Howells, NE to Herman and Martha (Koopmann) Goetze. She was baptized at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, north of Howells, and later confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Pilger, NE. Caroline attended Stanton County Rural School District #46 and graduated from Wisner High School in 1942. She received her normal training and taught at Cuming County Rural School District #35 and Zion Lutheran Parochial School.
On May 19, 1946, she was united in marriage to Verlin E.H. Wendt at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Pilger, NE. The couple lived on a farm south of Wisner, NE. Caroline later worked as a teacher's aide at Cuming County Rural School District #75.
She was a very active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Wisner, where she sang in the choir, and taught Sunday school, she was a member of WELCA and had served as the State Secretary for a few years. She was a member of the Homemakers Hour Project Club.
Caroline enjoyed entertaining at area nursing homes, performing original skits, sewing, and making crafts. Caroline and Verlin enjoyed organizing the Kiddie Pedal Tractor Pulls around the area.

Son- Delayne Wendt and wife Sherrie Spilde of Lincoln, NE
Daughter- Corinne and husband Jay Jacox of Lincoln, NE
Daughter- Gayleen and husband Eugene Weber of Wisner, NE
Grandson- Austen and wife Renae Jacox of Lincoln, NE
Caroline was preceded in death by her parents, husband Verlin, sister-Verna Heller, and brother-Ivan Goetze."
