Mrs. Leslie Davis
Mrs. Nellie M Davis, 51 years old, wife of Leslie Davis died suddenly of a heart ailment Thursday night at 8:45 at the family home at 1745 Broadway. Mrs. Davis had sustained a broken left leg in a fall at a skating rink about three weeks ago.
The body is at the Haman Funeral Home.
Funeral rites will be conducted on Sunday at 2:30 at First Baptist Church, with Rev. L. W. Cleland in charge. Burial will be at Memorial Park. The body will be taken to the church at 12:30 o'clock Sunday.
Besides her husband, Mrs Davis leaves four sisters, Mrs Charles Harrison and Mrs. Richard Wynn of Chicago, Mrs. Myrtle Eggers of Jackson and Mrs Agnes Kieseler of Norwood, Mo.
Born Oct 8, 1906, at Jackson, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Koehler. On Oct 8, 1929, she was married to Mr. Davis. For 23 years she was long distance operator for the telephone company here, retiring in 1945, upon the return home of Mr Davis from the service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
