MARY M. (THOMPSON) HARTNETT, 87, of Philadelphia, Pa., died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2003, at Hope House. Mary was a homemaker and devoted to raising her sons. She was a volunteer with the Servants of the Poor in Philadelphia, of which her late son, Br. Tim was a part; feeding the poor and homeless and offering guidance toward a better life for themselves. Mary was born in Fort Wayne and graduated from South Side High School in 1934. She was daughter of the late Bertha and Frederick Thompson; wife of the late John Hartnett; mother of Daniel Hartnett of Bloomington, Thomas Hartnett of Fort Wayne, Patrick Hartnett of Indianapolis, and the late Timothy Hartnett of Philadelphia; grandmother of Amanda, Ryan and Kevin Hartnett; and sister of Basil Thompson of Fort Wayne. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass, 11 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 819 Cathedral Road, Philadelphia, and to her viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, at the Clare McIlvaine Mundy Funeral Home, Inc. 7384 Ridge Ave., Philadelphia. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Cheltenham, Pa.
