Raymond F. Huettl, 45, Garrison, ND, died at his home Saturday following a lingering illness of about 9 months duration. Funeral services will be held at 10am Tuesday in the St. Nicholas Catholic Church at Garrison with the Rev. Adolph Brandner officiating. Burial will be made in the St. Nicholas Cemetery. The rosary will be recited by relatives and friends at 8pm Monday at the Heinle Funeral Home in Garrison, where the body is lying in state. Mr. Huettl had been a mail carrier at Garrison since 1926. He also served as fire chief and assistant fire chief for several years. Born April 28, 1907 at Mankato, Minnesota. Mr. Huettl came to North Dakota in 1907 with his parents, who settled at Max. He attended high school at Garrison and while in his junior year began carrying mail for the U.S. Government. He was graduated from Garrison High School in 1927. He and Viola Gudmunson were married at Garrison on June 11, 1928.
Besides his widow, Mr. Huettl leaves two daughters: Mrs. Clayton (Margaret) Boots, Coleharbor, ND and Frances Huettl at home; one son: Myron Huettl, also at home and two grand children. He also leaves his mother, Mrs. Mary Huettl; three brothers: Aloys and Clem both of Max, ND and LuVerne of Garrison; and four sisters: Mrs. Lucia Doll and Mrs. Joe (Marie) Friese of Garrison, Mrs. Mickey (Louise) Hulligan of Bismarck, and Mrs. John (Evelyn) Postovit of Max. His father and one brother preceded him in death. Active pall bearers were Donald Huettl, George Huettl, Richard Doll, Joe Friese Jr., Harrison Rodgers and Robert Hulligan. The honorary pallbearers were George Mahowald, George Boots, Richard Allers, Raymond Westmiller, Dr. Curtis Mahowald and Eugene Falstad.
