Funeral services will be held at 10am Tuesday from St. Nicholas Catholic Church here for LuVerne R. Huettl, 43, who died Saturday in a Garrison hospital. He had been in ill health for six years and hospitalized for one day. He was born April 6, 1920 at Max, ND, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Huettl. He married Lorraine Eman at Garrison on November 26, 1942. Survivors include his widow, his mother at St. Vincent's Nursing Home, Bismarck; three sons: LuVerne, 19; Thomas, 10; Danny, 4; five daughters: Patricia, 18; Alice, 17; Wanda, 14; Geraldine, 9; and Nina Noreen, 2 months; two brothers: Aloysius and Clem, both of Max; four sisters: Mrs. Michael Hulligan, Bismarck; Mrs. Lucia Doll, Denver, CO; Mrs. Joe Friese, Garrison; and Mrs. John Postovit, Seattle, WA. Preceding him in death were his father, an infant daughter and two brothers. After his graduation from Max High School in 1938, Mr. Huettl farmed 1 mile east of Max until 1945, when he moved to Garrison. He worked for the McLean Dairy until 1951 and then for the Westland Oil Co. until 1958. He served as city assessor and was also a Watkins dealer. He was a member of the Garrison City Council for two years. A member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Mr. Huettl belonged to Council 4715 of the Knights of Columbus. The Rev. Adolph Brandner will officiate at the funeral services. Burial will be made in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Myron Huettl, Quirin Friese, Donald Huettl, Dennis Vetter, Wallace Wretling and James Hulligan, all nephews. Rosary is scheduled for 8pm Monday at the funeral home. The Heinle Funeral Home at Garrison has charge of arrangements.
