Stockton, Minn. - John Brandes, 79, Chicago, formerly of Stockton, died Wednesday at 12:30 a.m. at his home after an illness of six weeks. Mr. Brandes was born in Horicon, Wis., August 28, 1871, and lived in Stockton about 40 years before going to Chicago.
He was a carpenter by trade and, while living in this area, was a bridge carpenter for the Chicago & Northwester and the Chicago & Great Western railroads.
The only close survivor is one sister, Mrs. James Sullivan, Minneapolis.
Funeral services were conducted in Chicago Thursday afternoon at the Thompson mortuary. The body has been brought to Winona where it will remain in the vault in Woodlawn cemetery until May when burial will be at Stockton.

Stockton, Minn -(Special) - A burial service for John Brandes, Chicago, who died March 13, will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Stockton cemetery.
Dr. Truman Potter, pastor Central Methodist church, Winona, will officiate.
Mr. Brandes, former resident died at Cook County hospital in Chicago and a commital service was held at Woodlawn cemetery, Winon, March 16.
