ROBERT P DIPPEL

Robert P Dippel, a lifelong resident of Sag Harbor, died on December 25 at a health care facility in Haverstraw, NY. He was 83 years old and had been in a nursing home for four months.

He was born in Southampton on March 29, 1916 to George and Jennie Louise (Moore) Dippel. He worked as a machinist at Grumman and also ran a party fishing boat. He was a member of the Sag Harbor Fire Department and the husband of Josephine Randall, who survives.

Mr Dippel also leaves two children, Wendy Lenihan of Sag Harbor and Marjory D Brown of Highland Mills, NY. He also leaves two grandchildren, Janet and Jennifer Brown.

Mr Dippel was a Mason and captain of the "Surf Master", a boat he operated out of Montauk.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, December 28 at Yardley and Pino Funeral Home with the Rev Christine Grimbol officiating. Cremation services were private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to the Parkinson's Disease or Alzheimer's Foundation.
