Reinholdt “Reiny” Meter, of Gering, NE was
97 years of age when he passed away, at his home. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lena Roth Meter; wife, Ruth; and sisters Lydia Bangert, Elsie Harimon and Marie Miller.
He married Ruth Gantz January 14, 1940; they were blessed with three children. Together they farmed throughout the valley; in 1964 he retired from farming going to work at Classic Bowling Lanes in Gering. After attending AMF Bowling Mechanics School in Chicago and a move to Denver, he went to work for the Walt Disney owned Celebrity Sports Center. Reiny was the mechanic for the 80 lane facility, in addition, 300 pin ball machines. He worked there for 28 years. In 1994, Reiny retired and they moved back to Gering. Ruth passed away in 2007.
