It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Eleanor (Ellie) Peters on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 in Regina, SK.
Ellie is lovingly remembered and survived by her husband Walter; son and daughter-inlaw; a daughter; five grandsons; five brothers and sisters-inlaw; as well as extended family and many friends.
She was predeceased by her parents John and Irene; and brothers Nicholas and Leonard.
Ellie was born in Linacre, SK on May 21, 1939. She spent her early years on the family farm and moved to Regina in 1956 to work as a hair dresser. Ellie and Walter married and soon after began their family.
Ellie was a devoted stay at home wife and mother who excelled in hosting family events and cooking fabulous meals. Ellie was a natural people person as well as gifted conversationalist and would spend many hours talking on the phone with her family and friends (usually on a daily basis!). In later years Ellie earned her Life Skills Coach Certification and family and friends often joked that she should hang up her shingle since her phone never had a chance to cool! Ellie gave of herself endlessly and touched the lives of everyone that knew her.
A CELEBRATION OF ELLIE'S LIFE will be held at the Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Tuesday, June 2, 2015.
A special thank you to the doctors and staff of the PCI and SICU Units at the Regina General Hospital for Ellie's care and for the kindness shown to her family. Your compassion meant so much. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ellie may be made to the Regina Humane Society, PO Box 3143, Regina, SK S4P 3G7 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8.
