Miss Megan Taylor Koenders, 10, of Connelly Springs died after a brief illness Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at Grace Hospital, Morganton.
Megan was born Oct. 25, 1996, in Burke County to Brent Edward and Shannon Bivens Koenders of Connelly Springs.
She was a fourth grade student at Rutherford College Elementary School and attended Evangelical Methodist Church where she was an active part of the Kidway Ministries.
In addition to her parents, Megan is survived by a sister, Kirsten Elizabeth Koenders of the home; maternal grandparents, Ray and Elizabeth Bivens of Connelly Springs; paternal grandparents, David and Laurel Koenders of Mooresville; and great-grandparents, Roy and Olga Koenders of Fraser, Mich. and Edward and Barbara Latimer of Rochester Hills, Mich.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Evangelical Methodist Church, Rutherford College, with the Rev. Mark Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Evangelical Methodist Church, Rutherford College. Memorials may be made to the Rutherford College Elementary School, PO Box 247, Rutherford College, NC 28671. Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese, is assisting the family.
