as Christian Sears, born about 1753 in Rowan County, NC. Later research shows her mother was Barbara Stutzman. [She was/is seen as 'Catherine' especially in above mentioned book - and in some other research, but it is in error.]
They were the parents of six children:
Jacob
Mary (Polly)-m. Philbert Wright [1768-1855]
Sarah
Elizabeth [m. James Wright, nephew of Philbert]
David
John
All children were born in Rowan County, North Carolina. In her father's will, Mary [Molly] is referred to as 'Polly Wright'.
At the age of 17, in 1793, Mary married Philbert Wright, the youngest son of Richard Wright, in Rowan County.
NOTE: Their 12 children are 'linked' below. One child often mentioned as 'son' is a Philbert Wright, b. 1802. That is untrue. Philbert never had a 'Philbert, Jr.' as attested by Philbert 1768's will. All 12 children are mention by name.
[Philbert b. 1802 was the son of Rev. Richard Wright and a 1st or 2nd cousin to Philbert above.]
