Joining the United States Marine Corps in 1954 as a private, he served his country honorably and faithfully for 20 Years as a combat decorated Vietnam Veteran, retiring a Captain of Marines in 1974.
Buck married Mary Ann Garrison in 1955 at McNary Arizona and had 3 children.
Upon his retirement, Buck and family moved to Oklahoma and became an over the road truck driver. Mary Ann, always by his side, would travel as his side kick. Mary Ann contracted leukemia and passed away in the spring of 2003.
Buck reconnected with an old McNary High School friend, Sandra Buckingham, whom he married on February 14, 2004.
Buck is survived by his wife Sandra; 3 children: Ann Kretz, Pamela Jones and Michael Jones; 5 grandchildren: Tara Jones, Michael Kretz, Jason Kretz, Andy Kretz, and Krystal Kretz Jones; and 10 great grandchildren: Alexandra Kretz, Katelynn Kretz, Maysen Kretz, Graysen Kretz, Jason Kretz, Jr, Kayleigh Kretz, Veronica Kretz, Isaac Kretz, Amelia Kretz, and Isabella Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Dorothy (Cotnam) Jones; brothers Wade Jones and Roy Jones; wife Mary Ann Jones; granddaughter Jocelyn Kretz and nephew Terry Jones.
A Celebration of Life Service will honor his life at 1:00 Thursday June 29, 2017 at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Bow. Full military honors will be performed by the United States Marine Corp at the Bethel Cemetery, Bethel, Oklahoma.
