A funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel for Clara Bauer, who died in Vancouver on Saturday, March 6, 1999. She was 94.

Mrs. Bauer, whose maiden name was Nydegger, was born April 28, 1904, in Canton Fribourg, Switzerland.

She came to the United States in 1922 and lived on a dairy farm in Woodland from 1944 to 1992 when she moved to Vancouver.

Her husband, Eugene "Shorty," died in 1972.

Survivors include two daughters, Rosaly Divens of Vancouver and Nancy Troyer of Auburn, Wash.; one brother, Max Nydegger of Switzerland; two sisters, Rosli Steffen and Martha Bertschi, both of Switzerland; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bauer loved to bake cookies and work in her flower garden. She was still knitting blankets for her great-grandchildren until she was 92.

Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
