Clinton Lewis Meadows, 89, of Woodfin, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the Charles George VA Medical Center Valor Hospice.

A native of Buncombe County, Mr. Meadows was born September 9, 1927 to the late Leroy and Mary Messer Meadows. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Lula Jane Wallin Meadows and his second wife, Carolyn Hensley Meadows and by sisters, Alley Frost, Faye Reese, and Mamie Teague; and brothers, Dennis and Walter Meadows.

Mr. Meadows served in the US Army and was a veteran of WWII. He was an extremely hard worker. He was a farmer and drove a taxi cab. He was also very social and well liked, and he loved to talk. He was a member of Union Baptist Church in Leicester.

Survivors include his children, Tommy Meadows (Betty) of Woodfin, and Elizabeth Mency (Doug) of Shallotte, NC; brother, Charlie Meadows Teresa of Woodfin; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 14 at Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Leicester with Military Honors, with Rev. James Bryant officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside.
