Ruth Ann Burchett Davis, age 79 of Prestonsburg, KY, widow of Elmer Davis, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2020 at Highlands ARH, Prestonsburg, KY. She was born June 19, 1941 in Martin, KY, a daughter of the late John and Telia Cook Burchett. She was a member of the Pentecostal Apostolic Church and retired from Walmart.
She is survived by two sons: Mike (Janice) Davis, Robert (Carey) Davis, both of Prestonsburg, KY, two daughters; Anita Davis, Prestonsburg, KY, April (Jamie) Collins, Paintsville, KY, one brother; Ray (Shirley) Burchett, Ashland, KY, one sister; Lorene Slone, Banner, KY, seven grandchildren; Shawn Davis, Christopher Barker, Kayla Lazar, Ashley Champ, Morgan Davis, Courtney Collins, Brett Davis and seven great grandchildren; Lauren and Matthew Davis, Peyton Shortridge, Mason and Aurora Champ, Aubree and Ryan Cord.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Mermon and Otis Burchett, two sisters and their husbands; Louise (Charles) Boyd, Phyllis (Tom) Ousley, two grandchildren; Leann Shortridge, Max Mansford Davis and one brother in law; Charles Slone.
Funeral service for Mrs. Ruth Davis will be conducted on Saturday, December 12 at 1 PM at the Auxier Freewill Baptist Church, Auxier, KY with Ray Sayers, Plennie Sawyers and Rick Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in the Gethsemane Gardens, Prestonsburg, KY. Visitation will be Friday after 5 PM at the church.
