Sister Marista Gieske ST. JOSEPH Sister Marista Gieske, 93, St. Benedict's Convent, died Tuesday at St. Scholastica Convent, St. Cloud. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Benedict's Convent Chapel. Burial will be in the convent cemetery. There will be a wake service at 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Scholastica Convent and one at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Benedict's Convent. Friends may call at the convent in St. Joseph at the time of the wake service and from 8 a.m. until time of funeral Saturday. Sister Marista Gieske was born March 10, 1892, in New Munich to Joseph and Agnes (Von Drehle) Gieske. She entered St. Benedict's Convent June 15, 1922, made her first vows July 11, 1923, and her final vows July 11, 1926. She worked for 45 years in the vestment section of St. Benedict's Convent and for seven years doing household sewing, retiring in 1975. Survivors include brothers and sisters, Joseph and Mary Gieske and Mrs. Alphonse Schmidt, New Munich; Bernard Gieske, Hollywood, Calif; and Joseph Wimmer, Albany. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and four sisters.
