Peter Carsten Black was born in Germany July 31st, 1873, the son of Carsten and Amelia Back, in the province of Schleswig.
In the spring of 1888 Mr. Back left Germany and immigrated to America, landing in April.
On June 2nd 1889 he was united in marriage to Helene C Peters and their home was blessed with seven children, four girls and three boys. One boy, Clarence died in infancy. Survivors besides his widow are: Otto Black, Spencer; Ella Struve, Moneta; Peter Back Jr of Macon MO; Elsie Struve, Sutherland; Ann Dahl at home; Helen Stoelting of San Diego, Calif
