Bernard A. Bloemer, 61, of Sullivan died at 10 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Bernard was born July 29, 1945, in Effingham, the son of Louis F. and Isabel B. Doedtman Bloemer.
He was retired from United Parcel Service and was a Vietnam Army veteran.
He was a member of St. Columcille Catholic Church, American Legion Post 68 and Illinois Thoroughbred Association.
He married Janet R. Lilly on July 6, 1974, in Effingham.
Surviving are his wife; mother of Effingham; brothers, James J. Bloemer and wife Carol Ann and Jerry R. Bloemer and wife Cathy, both of Effingham; Larry F. Bloemer and wife Donna of Troy; Ralph J. Bloemer and wife Marie of Pana; sister, Anna Marie Harrelson of Brighton.
He was preceded in death by his father.
