Mike Pessl was born August 17, 1939, in Oberhausen, Germany, the son of Hubert Joseph and Ella Wilhelmine Marie (Rorig) Pessl. At the age of 6, he, his Mother Ella, and his sister Ingrid immigrated to America from Austria. They traveled to France, departing from the port of LeHavre on the ship S.S. Uruguay, and arrived in New York, New York, on May 8, 1946.
He attended high school in Greenville, Michigan, and graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle with a degree in engineering.
After working for Tektronics in Beaverton, Mike retired and moved to the family ranch out of Odell, Oregon. He lived there for many years with his domestic partner, Sharon Wallace, until declining health made it necessary for them to move to Prineville, Oregon, to be closer to her family.
Mike is survived by his longtime partner, Sharon, and his sister, Ingrid Barlett.
